Darwin Nunez’s ‘Turkey teeth’ have left Liverpool fans in tears of laughter.

The Anfield faithful are still waiting for their £65million striker to properly kick into gear over a year after his transfer from Benfica. Despite contributing five assists, the Uruguay star has netted just four Premier League goals this campaign and is currently in the midst of a 10-game goal drought.

But his larger than life personality ensures the 24-year-old still has the support of the fans. And Nunez’s latest off the pitch video on the Reds’ official YouTube channel summed up exactly why he is a fan favourite.

During a Christmas-themed carpool karaoke, Nunez was handed a pair of fake ‘Turkey teeth’ to put in, which he duly obliged. “Here’s a gift for Darwin so he feels like a Scouser. Cos you’re not a proper Scouser unless you’ve got some Turkey teeth,” the host said.

Nunez showed off his eye-catching new gnashers with a huge grin, before saying: “How are we?” in a Scouse accent, sending team-mates Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo into hysterics. And fans also loved the interaction as they took to social media.

One Liverpool supporter replied on X: “Omg I’m dead,” while another tweeted: “Darwin Nunez is the best thing to happen in the history of football.”

A third added: “Good sport is Darwin. Fantastic, even got my Mrs laughing on that one,” and a fourth commented: “Oh and I’m in love with him again.”

Others aimed friendly jibes at the player’s performances, tweeting: “He hit the target with that one,” and: “Makes a change from looking toothless…”

Nunez has missed a handful of big chances already this season despite getting into good positions and showing promise in glimpses. He scored nine league goals in 29 appearances last season but enjoyed his best game for Liverpool against Newcastle in August, where he netted two late on to clinch a dramatic comeback victory.
