Madison Keys’ quarter-final matchup with Marketa Vondrousova on Arthur Ashe Stadium was delayed Wednesday night as a fan was treated for an undisclosed medical issue.
The game was delayed for just over eight minutes as a male patron received assistance before he was carried out after initially collapsing.
Keys and Vondrousova had already begun the game by this point, with the American serving in the opening game.
The No. 17 seed holds a one-set advantage over the No. 9 Czechian at the time of writing.
During the break in play, Keys generously took water and towels to a security guard so they could be passed on to those aiding the male patron.
