‘S***house award worthy’ time-wasting gets Championship star Christmas off work
Ben Pearson produced some 's***housery' worthy of an award in the Championship – and it's earned him so time off over Christmas.
The 28-year-old Stoke star was looking to try and see out the game as his team led against Swansea on Wednesday evening, when he was shoved by Oli Cooper. Pearson did his best to make a meal out of the shove, stumbling towards the hoardings, which he fell over with perfect comedic timing.
Unfortunately, the referee wasn't in a laughing mood – and brandished Pearson with a yellow card. Pearson will now not be available for Stoke until they travel to Birmingham City on Boxing Day.

"Death, taxes and Ben Pearson being a s**t house," a third said. A fourth suggested he should be nominated for the "s***house awards". And another added: "…and gets Christmas week off work for it!"

Ultimately, Pearson's play-acting didn't matter as the Swans stole a point in the 89th minute thanks to Harry Darling heading home from a corner. Stoke's caretaker boss Paul Gallagher said: "We only had 24 hours to prepare the team and we changed the shape.
"The game plan we put in front of the lads, they stuck to it. I can't ask for any more. The work rate, application and fight for each other was excellent. The lapse of concentration there at the end cost us three points which I thought we deserved.
"It's just that lapse of concentration but that happens when you put that much into the game, you're physically and mentally drained. We need to get these lads to a point they can see games out."
