Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold returns as Klopp makes Nunez call vs Tottenham
Klopp comments on Liverpool's new investment
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a host of decisions to make ahead of their trip to Tottenham on Saturday. The Reds have been in imperious form as of late and are boosted by the news that Trent Alexander-Arnold has returned to training and is available for selection, but there are a few more places up for grabs in north London. Here, Express Sport has taken a look at predicting the Liverpool team to face Spurs.
Goalkeeper: Alisson
Barring any injury, Alisson will return to the team after back-up Caoimhin Kelleher stepped in and even captained the side in their Carabao Cup win over Leicester in midweek. Despite Kelleher being one of the most capable number two’s in the business, Alisson is still firmly first choice and will come back to face Tottenham.

Defence: Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson
Alexander-Arnold is back and available for the trip to Spurs, after Klopp confirmed in his pre-match injury update. “Trent trained yesterday normal, will train today normal,” he said on Friday. “We have to make a decision. It looks like he will be in the squad and play.”
Klopp has a late decision to make but if Alexander-Arnold can play then he will likely be restored to the lineup, alongside the usual contenders but with Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all available the Frenchman may be preferred in order to combat the pace of Son Hueng-min up top.

Midfield: Szoboszlai, Endo, Mac Allister
In Liverpool’s trickiest away match of the season so far against Newcastle, Klopp brought Wataru Endo into the midfield to offer added security, especially with the German boss likely wary of the threat that James Maddison poses if he is fit to play after a knock against Arsenal.
Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister pick themselves after their impressive starts to life at Anfield, but whether Klopp will prefer the security of Endo or the guile of Curtis Jones will be made clear shortly before kick-off.
The 23/24 home shirt for Liverpool pays homage to the past of the club, as well as collaborator Nike, with a strong 1970s influence. The iconic red, capped with bold white cuffs and collar really does invoke that classic Liverpool FC style while adding a cool retro touch
Attack: Salah, Nunez, Jota
Klopp will naturally want to press Spurs high, despite Ange Postecoglou’s side showcasing their ability to get past them in the north London derby. Cody Gakpo could be given the number nine role in order to better provide that industry, but Darwin Nunez’s form cannot be ignored at the moment.
Mohamed Salah is one of the first names on the teamsheet, but on the opposite flank a call has to be made between Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. Klopp may prefer the Colombian’s dribbling ability up against either Pedro Porro or Emerson Royal, but Jota offers a stronger press and if Nunez is preferred over Gakpo then that intensity could be provided on the wing instead.
