Boy wonder who tore apart Man Utd and was wanted by Real Madrid now worth £1.75m

Pione Sisto had the world at his feet after tearing apart Manchester United to earning links to Real Madrid – but things haven't gone to plan

Now 28 and recently signing for mid-table Turkish outfit Alanyaspor, the forward hasn't played for the Denmark national side since back in 2020. The peak of his career might well have been during Midtjylland's Europa League run of 2015/16 – when he stole the headlines.

Scouts from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Milan and Juventus are believed to watch the dynamic young forward in action as he scored both home and away against United before Midtjylland crashed out of the competition.

The European showcase came three years after he broke into the Midtjylland first-team having progressed through their youth academy after beginning his career with Tjorring.

His four full seasons with Midtjylland brought 31 goals with Celta Vigo winning the race to sign him for a fee of around £5million.

Despite showing glimpses of his ability, he rejoined Midtjylland with a year left on his five-year deal and managed another 15 goals across 101 games.

Sisto joined Super Lig club Alanyaspor earlier this month as he looks to recreate his early season form with Transfermarkt having his current value at £1.75m – having once been seven times higher.

His international career was also underwhelming, with one goal across 26 caps and a poor run of form at the 2018 World Cup.

Sisto proclaimed himself to be 'the most hated person in Denmark' due to his performances, more recently revealing that he suffered from bouts of depression following the tournament.

As well as the Champions League, TNT Sports will also be offering sports fans access to games across the Premier League, Europa League, Serie A and much more.

Sisto now has the chance to get his career back on track under the guidance of Omer Erdogan, with team-mates including former Swansea man Leroy Fer.

Sisto said on his arrival: "I would like to thank our president very much. I came to a very beautiful city.

"I can't wait to meet our fans. After my transfer was complete, messages started coming from the fans. I thank them very much for their interest."
