‘Naughty’ Judd Trump plays ‘brilliant’ trick shot at Shanghai Masters Snooker
Judd Trump whipped the Shanghai Masters crowd into a frenzy with a cheeky trick shot against Jack Lisowski.
Trump beat Lisowski 6-5 in a tough match to reach the quarter-finals as snooker returned to China for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. Fans at the Shanghai Grand Stage were treated to a potting masterclass from the Juddernaut, who turned on the style as he cleared up in the sixth frame.
Leading 3-2 and poised to extend that lead further, Trump found himself in a tricky position in the middle of the table with the blue blocking his way to the green. Ever the showman, the 34-year-old potted the green from an impossible position after rebounding the white off the side cushion.
The ambitious shot sent the auditorium into raptures and gave Trump perfect position on the brown as he increased his lead over his opponent. And it wasn't just those inside the arena who loved the 2019 world champion's audacity.

One person on social media called Trump a "naughty boy," while someone else described the shot as "unbelievable." Trump went on to win the seventh frame to lead 5-2 and put himself on the verge of victory, but Lisowski came roaring back.
The world no.14 won three frames on the spin to make it 5-5 before Trump claimed the crucial 11th frame to prevail and set up a huge quarter-final with Mark Selby.

Reflecting on the match and a tricky final frame, Trump said: "I thought I had blown it when I missed the yellow in the last frame. He was potting some really good balls and had one tricky shot left, and I thought it was game over because he looked good from 5-2 down.
"I was already thinking about the flight home, but obviously he missed that one. The balls were there but you have to clear up."
