The January transfer window is now in full swing and fans have almost four weeks worth of business to keep up with before squads shut up shop and press on for the rest of the season. Premier League managers have until January 31st to bolster their squads, with plenty of incentive at the bottom and top of the table to recruit wisely.

Everton have hit the ground running to kick off the window, wasting no time in signing Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev and closing in on Rangers’ Nathan Patterson.

Newcastle also look to be making progress behind the scenes, with links to Kieran Trippier and Sven Botman indicative of their fight to escape relegation.

While none of the divisions high-flyers have completed any concrete deals thus far, there are believed to be plenty in the pipeline.

And with the congested festive football schedule now in the rear-view mirror, Express Sport will keep you up to date on the day’s transfer news below:

Arsenal launch fresh Dusan Vlahovic approach

Arsenal have reportedly submitted a player-plus-cash offer to Fiorentina for star striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Gunners have tabled £46million, plus midfielder Lucas Torreira, taking the total value of the deal to almost £60m.

The 21-year-old Serbian has been in superb form in front of goal since the start of last season, notching 18 so far this time out in just 20 games.

It is no surprise, therefore, that Arsenal are trying to secure the striker as early as possible, with Juventus also thought to be pondering a move.

Newcastle earmark Alfredo Morelos as ‘urgent target’

Newcastle United have supposedly pinpointed Rangers goal-machine Alfredo Morelos as an urgent target, according to CBS Sports.

Recent injuries to attacking duo Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin have left the Magpies thin on the ground up top, and the Colombian, who has already scored 13 goals in all competitions this season, could head to Tyneside for £20million.

Eddie Howe and co. may have to fend off rival interest from Everton and Leicester City, however, who are also rumoured to be monitoring the striker.

Romelu Lukaku informs Thomas Tuchel of Chelsea intentions

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has reportedly informed boss Thomas Tuchel, as well as the Blues board, that he has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge in January.

The Belgian caused a stir last week when a controversial interview with Sky Sports Italia surfaced, which included strikingly honest comments about his Chelsea struggles and love for Inter Milan.

Tuchel claimed on Sunday that if his meeting with Lukaku was satisfactory, he could be back in action to face Tottenham on Wednesday evening.

Per Fabrizio Romano’s report, that could now be the case.
