Ten Hag brings on Maguire in need of a goal as Man Utd fans think he’s ‘lost it’
Manchester United fans were seething after Erik ten Hag brought on Harry Maguire with his side trailing Crystal Palace in the dying minutes.
United suffered their fourth Premier League defeat already this season on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils lost 1-0 at Old Trafford after a tight game where they squandered several chances in front of goal.
Joachim Andersen’s wonder-strike, a 25th minute volley into the roof of the net, was enough to give the Eagles a huge victory on the road. And the United faithful took issue with their manager’s tactics at the end of the game.

Ten Hag opted to take off centre-back pairing Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane in the 87th minute. One of the replacements was midfielder Donny van de Beek, while the other was central defender Maguire.
United supporters on social media slammed the decision as they failed to make sense of bringing on Maguire when they most needed a goal – particularly given his recent string of high-profile errors at the other end of the pitch.
