Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the Treble is ‘more or less impossible’ after seeing Liverpool fail in their bid to emulate his Manchester United team of 1999.
Liverpool are near certainties to win end their 30-year wait for a title after opening up a 22-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
But Jurgen Klopp’s side trail Atletico Madrid after the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, and went out of the FA Cup to Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Solskjaer admitted that it shows just how hard it is to win all three, as he did under Sir Alex Ferguson in 1999.
‘We hope we’re going to do it again but it’s a difficult task and more or less impossible,’ he said when asked about Liverpool.
‘There are so many good teams around, it has changed domestically. It was either us or Arsenal in ’99, and now there’s more of us.’
Liverpool’s Treble aspirations ended on Tuesday night as they crashed out of the FA Cup
United beat Arsenal in an epic FA Cup semi-final replay and went on to beat the Gunners to the title as well.
Ahead of Thursday’s fifth round trip to Derby, Solskjaer added: ‘For me, it was a fantastic final to play in ’99.
‘It’s always been the last game of the season, a spectacle. You can never ever underrate the FA Cup and how much it means. For us it was a big step against Arsenal, that was maybe the turning point. The Treble was a fantastic achievement.’
