Serie A keeper makes ‘best double save you’ll see’ from Arsenal & Chelsea target
Michele Di Gregorio had football fans on social media applauding him after the Monza keeper produced a stunning double save against Juventus.
Friday night saw Juventus travel to the Stadio Brianteo to take on Monza, knowing that a win would return them to the top of the Serie A table. And they looked to be well on their way to securing all three points when they were awarded a penalty on nine minutes when Andrea Cambiaso was fouled by Giorgos Kyriakopoulos.
But the 26-year-old Italian had other ideas. Staring down Juve forward Dusan Vlahovic from the spot, Di Gregorio saved the Serbian's initial effort, diving low to his right hand side to prevent the striker.

In doing so, he handed Vlahovic an opportunity to bundle home from close range, who looked an absolute certainty to score. Unfortunately for the Serbian, Di Gregorio somehow managed to leap off the ground, making a finger tip save to divert Vlahovic's follow up wide, with his Monza team-mate mobbing him in celebration after he had produced the double save.
However, the wild celebrations were short lived, with Juventus scoring immediately from the resulting corner through French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who headed home past Di Gregorio.

And while Monza thought they had snatched a point away from Juve in injury-time thanks to a 91st minute goal from Valentin Carboni, their celebrations were once again short lived, with the Old Lady's Federico Gatti scoring in the 94th minute to seal a 2-1 win for Massimiliano Allegri side.
But, that did not stop Di Gregorio, who had been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal, from earning plaudits for his performance against Juventus. One fan on social media said: "Di Gregorio is actually a top level keeper, big clubs should be looking at him."
