- Reports in Spain say that could delay talks with Mbappe ‘out of respect’ for PSG
Kylian Mbappe is free to talk to other clubs from January 1 but Real Madrid are reportedly ready to put negotiations on hold until March as a goodwill gesture to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spanish giants have made no secret of their pursuit for No 1 target Mbappe and with his contract at PSG expiring at the end of the season there is growing belief at Real Madrid that he will be playing for them next season.
But after being drawn together in the last-16 of the Champions League, Spanish publication Diario AS have reported that Real Madrid are ready to cool talks with Mbappe until after the second leg.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti will come up against Mbappe in the Champions League soon
Carlo Ancelotti’s side will travel to Paris for the first leg on February 15 and will then return to Spain for the second leg on March 9 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Out of respect for PSG, who themselves have not given up hope of convincing Mbappe to stay, Real Madrid are reportedly ready to put the brakes on negotiations with the star striker until the tie is resolved.
Reports in France say PSG have resumed their own negotiations with Mbappe but have so far made no progress towards a renewal.
Mbappe asked the club to allow him to leave last summer but that request was blocked.

PSG take on Real Madrid in the last-16 and all eyes will be on Mbappe and his contract position
Real Madrid were prepared to spend up to £197million to sign the 22-year-old in the summer window but again PSG refused to sell as they push to keep their star man.
Mbappe has always remained coy on his future, refusing to commit one way or the other to his plan.
‘I don’t know. Today I have to take the time. It is not easy. Either way, I’ll be playing for a big club,’ Mbappe told Amazon Prime recently.
‘At first I was disappointed [not to leave]. But well, I am not in the third division, I am in a club that wants to win the Champions League.
‘I am Parisian, I have my family, I feel good, I have always said it. I just wanted to discover something else.’
Former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry is furious with how PSG have allowed themselves to get caught in this situation.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry slammed PSG over their handling of Mbappe’s contract situation
Henry was pitchside to see Mbappe score a brace against Monaco, taking him past 100 Ligue 1 goals for PSG.
Speaking to Amazon, as reported by RMC Sport, Henry said: ‘It should have been settled two years ago.
‘I think that if two years ago, they had sat down with Mbappe to tell him: “this will be your team, we’re gonna build this team around you, you’re gonna be the boss.”
‘But now he really has his destiny in his hands. He will be able to sign wherever he wants.’
Mbappe is eligible to begin negotiations over signing a pre-contract agreement from January 1 but it now appears Real Madrid will make no move, or at least make no announcement, prior to the March 9 second-leg against PSG at the Bernabeu.
