Prem clubs hike Xmas jumper prices by a fifth – with West Ham least festive

Penny-pinching Premier League clubs have hiked Christmas jumper prices by up to 17 per cent – leaving fans counting the cost.

Hammers fans are set to suffer the worst cash grab with West Ham increasing rates for festive “We’re Forever Blowing Bubbles” pullovers rocketing by £5 from £30 to £35 in just 12 months. Arsenal have also increased rates for Gunners supporters after they raised rates for their jumpers from £36 last term out to £40 today – a 10 per cent increase.

Nottingham Forest wants more for its Christmas woollies with the club asking for £35 this year for jumpers compared to £32 last year – a nine per cent increase And Liverpool’s seasonal “Fairisle” jumpers are priced at £35 this season compared to £32 last – a rise of six per cent.

There was some good news as the majority of sides, including Tottenham, Manchester United, Brentford, Wolves, Fulham and Chelsea, have frozen prices. And Everton has actually slashed the rates for their festive jumper offering by half from £30 to £15 compared to last term out.

Last year we told how some moneybags top flight outfits had ratcheted up rates by up to 100 per cent compared with pre-Covid prices. Campaigners have blasted the latest price rises.
