Manchester United star Paul Pogba left the Old Trafford crowd in stitches after playing a prank on Bruno Fernandes.

It came after their 5-1 demolition of Leeds United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer laid down a marker this season.

The Red Devils are desperate to win the Premier League title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson's last season in charge back in 2013.

And if they are to go the distance this campaign, they will rely heavily on Pogba and Fernandes, who were in fantastic form as they picked apart the Whites.

The Portugal international scored a hat-trick as the £89m man threaded perfect pass after pass.

But after celebrating on the pitch together after a brilliant display, Pogba decided to play a little prank on his teammate during a post-match interview.

As Fernandes spoke, the Frenchman jostled over and sprayed him with his water bottle as the Old Trafford crowd roared with amusement.

Keeping hold of Pogba could prove pivotal to United's ambitions amid speculation over his future at the club.

The 28-year-old refused a contract offer over the summer as entered the final year of his current terms as Paris Saint-Germain look to sign him.

Any further decision is not expected imminently but Paul Scholes reckons he could extend his time at the club if they continue to perform.

"I think he’ll stay," he said. "I think he will.

"When he was playing a couple of years ago in a team that wasn’t quite functioning as well as this one looks like it might do, and with the amount of attacking players he’s got, the ability he’s got, I think he’ll add a lot to this team.

"I think he’ll end up signing a new contract. If this team carries on in this manner, progressing like it is – I don’t want to get too excited – but it’s a team that can go on and win trophies and that’s what he wants to do."
