Former France international Samir Nasri has urged Kylain Mbappe to snub a move to Real Madrid next summer in favour of extending his stay at PSG.
Mbappe has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu for several years and will finally have the chance to complete the transfer as free agent when his contract in Paris expires next summer.
But the France skipper has been encouraged to remain in Ligue 1 by ex-Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Nasri who reckoned that the 24-year-old’s achievements with his boyhood club would always outweigh anything he could do in Spain.
‘Yes, even in world football. If he leaves, it will leave a hole, but with the budget, they will be able to recruit other players – who will not be Mbappe, that is clear.’ He told JDD via Le10Sport.
‘But today, he has such importance, whether in the French team or with his club. Already two years ago, I said he was the best player in the world. I still think so.

The France skipper penned a lucrative two-year contract extension with an option for a third in 2022
‘He is from the Paris region: I, in his place, I would stay at PSG, instead of going to Madrid, to win the fiftieth Champions League for Real.
‘If [Marseille] had been owned by Qatar when I was at the club, I would never have left. I think it is better to be the king in your village.’
The rallying cry comes amid the forward’s upcoming free agency that would see the Parisian’s lose their star for nothing. Mbappe’s unwillingness to extend his lucrative deal in the summer enraged club chiefs.
The former Monaco striker was banished from the first team squad and publicly told he would not be allowed to leave on a free by chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Mbappe has shone following his reintegration into the team, scoring 10 goals in 10 Ligue 1 games and a further two in the Champions League.
