Man Utd ‘very close’ to signing Chelsea star and deal to trigger another exit

Manchester United are reportedly very close to signing Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella on loan. The deal will then see Alvaro Fernandez leave Old Trafford on a temporary move of his own.

United boss Erik ten Hag wants to sign a left-back before Friday’s 11pm transfer deadline. Luke Shaw is set for a couple of months on the sidelines with a muscular injury.

A host of players have been linked with a move to the Red Devils in recent days. Cucurella is out of favour at Chelsea having dropped to third-choice under Mauricio Pochettino.

United’s interest in the Spaniard emerged over the weekend. And now Spanish outlet Marca claims a deal is close to being completed.
