Manchester United target Mauricio Pochettino has broken his silence amid reports that he could take over as the Red Devils’ new boss. United are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday morning.
“I’m happy in Paris,” Pochettino told RMC Sport.
“I know the city well both as a player and a coach – I have always lived this type of situation.
“Things happen and it’s not my responsibility. What I’m going to say if you ask me is that I’m happy in Paris.”
Pochettino is in Manchester this week as he prepares his side to face Manchester City in their penultimate Champions League group stage clash.
The Parisians are currently second in the Group A table but will leapfrog the Citizens with victory at the Etihad Stadium.
JUST IN: Pochettino closes in on Man Utd move amid PSG stars’ Zidane inkling
Pochettino has been installed as the early favourite to take over at Old Trafford after already holding talks with club chiefs about becoming the Red Devils’ manager twice in the past.
United missed out on landing the 49-year-old on those occasions but are apparently keen to finally persuade the former Argentina international to take the helm in the north west.
Poch is currently contracted to PSG until the summer of 2023, but the Ligue 1 side could be willing to allow the former defender to depart the Parc des Princes if they can find a suitable successor.
PSG chiefs are apparently keen to bring in Zinedine Zidane as their new boss, with the Frenchman also being linked to the job at Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick has been placed in temporary charge of the United side and will be looking to get his team back to winning ways when they face Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils are currently top of the Group F table but could drop to third if results go against them.
United have been in dismal form in recent months and have won just once in their last seven Premier League games.
A string of dire performances has seen the side fall to eighth in the table and they are in danger of being cut adrift of the top four.
West Ham currently occupy the final Champions League position and United are already six points behind the Hammers.
United chiefs will therefore be under pressure to appoint a new boss as soon as possible as they look to reverse the team’s fortunes and salvage their season.
