Man Utd star Rasmus Hojlund’s action immediately after coming off injured
Rasmus Hojlund has seemingly added to Erik ten Hag’s injury woes at Manchester United after the striker hobbled off against Luton and went straight down the tunnel for medical treatment. United’s £72million summer signing is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League despite a hatful of chances.
He had opportunities against Luton with two golden chances to break the deadlock either side of half-time. But Ten Hag may now have to deal without the striker as he was forced off with a worrying looking injury midway through the second half.
Hojlund pulled up with what appeared to be a muscle injury and he grabbed at his hamstring. The Dane sat on the floor and signalled he needed to come off and it didn’t look good as Hojlund hobbled his way to the side of the pitch.
And Hojlund gave an early indication that it wasn’t just potentially cramp he was suffering from as the forward headed straight down the tunnel.
Anthony Martial is United’s only other recognised central striker in Ten Hag’s squad. But the Frenchman has failed to make an impact this season when called upon with his only goal coming in the Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace in September.
Hojlund will have a few weeks recover from the knock though with an international break coming up next. Ten Hag will no doubt be hoping the striker is rested by Denmark, although they still have some work to do in order to qualify for next year’s European Championships.
