Man Utd ‘prepare bumper offer’ to Grealish to triple Aston Villa star’s wages

Man Utd have made Jack Grealish their top transfer target and are reportedly prepared to triple the Aston Villa star's £50k salary.

Grealish has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford after a stunning campaign in the Premier League.

The Villa skipper looks increasingly likely to depart his boyhood club this summer regardless of whether they can beat the drop or not.

United are in pole position to land his signature, and are willing to offer Grealish a bumper £150,000-per-week contract to seal the deal.

The Sun report United are eyeing a £60million swoop for the 24-year-old, who is also attracting interest from their rival neighbours Man City.

Grealish is said to be concerned he would get reduced playing time if he joined Pep Guardiola's elite squad, giving United the advantage.

The midfielder has a chance to further display his talents in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, which could also add weight to claims for an England call-up.

Villa only tied their captain down to a five-year deal in September, putting them in a strong position to negotiate.

Grealish previously came under fire from Villa fans for liking a post on social media linking him with a switch to United.

He has been drawing plaudits from all corners this season, with former Arsenal star Robert Pires even comparing him to Premier League great.

“Jack is a great footballer with a good technique – and I love watching him play because he reminds me of Dennis Bergkamp," Pires said.

“I like to see him playing in the same position as Dennis, as a No 10.
