Man Utd eye Oliver Skipp, Dembele blow and Newcastle’s ‘super offer’ for target
Manchester United's midfield crisis could lead interim boss Ralf Rangnick to Tottenham Hotspur's Oliver Skipp, it has been claimed.
Much has been made of the club's problems in the centre of the park and Rangnick is expected to move for a new midfielder during this month's January transfer window and he is reportedly interested in Skipp.
It comes as the club appear to have suffered a double blow in their attempts to add more to the squad up front.
United are said to be interested in signing Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele, although reports have now suggested they may lose out to Premier League rivals Liverpool.
And newly-rich Newcastle United may be about to beat United to the signature of a South American wonderkid.
Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Manchester United transfer news below.
Liverpool swoop for Dembele
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are hoping to get one over on United by beating them to the signature of Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele, it has been claimed.
El Nacional reports Liverpool are considering offering €10million (£8million) to sign Dembele permanently this month despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The move would come as a blow to United, who reportedly want to swap the Frenchman for his compatriot Anthony Martial before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

United eye Skipp
Manchester United's problems in midfield could lead to them bidding for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp, it has been reported.
According to a report from Fichajes, United and Newcastle are following the progress of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Oliver Skipp.
United view the Spurs ace as a cheaper alternative to Declan Rice, it is claimed.
Both sides would potentially face competition from German giants Bayern Munich for the player's signature, should he decide to leave London, the report adds.
