Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag may need to drop four players for Brighton clash
Man Utd players' feelings towards Jadon Sancho after latest Erik ten Hag spat
Manchester United host Brighton and Hove Albion next Saturday, vying to return to winning ways after a crushing defeat at Arsenal last time out. Erik ten Hag can’t afford to suffer the same fate as in his first competitive game in charge of the Red Devils, in which Brighton left Old Trafford with a 2-1 win.
But the Dutchman may be tempted to make changes in his side based on performances and new arrivals.
Express Sport looks at four switches Ten Hag could make for what promises to be an arduous task against Roberto De Zerbi’s high-flying Seagulls.
Dalot for Reguilon
Diogo Dalot has been Ten Hag’s answer to his current left-back crisis, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both out injured.
But he was unconvincing in the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal, albeit when faced with as tough a challenge as Premier League right-wingers come in Bukayo Saka.
The Brighton clash could present a prime opportunity to introduce deadline-day addition Sergio Reguilon, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
A left-sided player capable of staying wide may compliment Marcus Rashford, who flaunted his threat cutting inside when he scored his first goal of the campaign at the Emirates Stadium.

Eriksen for Amrabat
Christian Eriksen is enjoying a strong run of form.
He netted his first Old Trafford goal to launch a 3-2 comeback win against Nottingham Forest before supplying the assist for Rashford’s opener at Arsenal.
The 31-year-old then produced three assists in Denmark’s 4-0 triumph over San Marino in midweek.
But United may need a more physical presence capable of dealing with Brighton’s relentless press, which makes it a perfect time to hand Amrabat his debut if he’s fit.

Antony for Garnacho
Antony has been one of United’s brighter players in a turbulent start to the season, but Alejandro Garnacho could return to the starting lineup against Brighton.
Antony is at the centre of a media storm off the pitch after allegations of domestic abuse made by three former girlfriends.
The 23-year-old winger has strongly denied all allegations against him, publicly asserting his innocence in a TV interview after being dropped from Brazil duty.
It’d be no surprise if the ongoing situation is acting as a distraction, though, which could lead Ten Hag to drag him out of the spotlight.

Martial for Hojlund
Anthony Martial has failed to convince when he’s been on the pitch so far this season, and he made way for the debuting £72million new boy Rasmus Hojlund at Arsenal.
Hojlund looked a serious threat while the game was finely poised late on and played a crucial role in what Garnacho believed was the winning goal before VAR denied him.
And he’s bound to make his first start against Brighton, keeping Rashford in his preferred left-wing position.
Reguilon down the left and Garnacho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right with a 6ft 5in striker to aim at would be a fascinating watch.
