Man United boss Erik ten Hag complains 'EVERYTHING went against us'
Man United boss Erik ten Hag complains ‘EVERYTHING went against us’ in dramatic Arsenal loss – as he insists Alejandro Garnacho was NOT offside and Rasmus Hojlund should have had a penalty
- Erik ten Hag expressed unhappiness towards refereeing decisions on the day
- The United boss insisted that the decisions went against his side at the Emirates
- Arsenal bagged 3-1 victory with two goals in stoppage time to claim three points
Erik ten Hag was seriously unhappy in his post-match interview with Sky Sports as he questioned several refereeing decisions during Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal at the Emirates.
United’s manager believed VAR Jarred Gillett viewed the ‘wrong angle’ of replays when Alejandro Garnacho’s late goal was ruled offside.
Ten Hag also believed that £72million signing Rasmus Hojlund, who came on to make his debut, should have been awarded a penalty.
The United manager fumed: ‘The performance is right, we played a good game but everything went against us. And then you don’t win the game.
‘You saw the game, it’s not offside, that is the wrong angle, then a penalty on Hojlund, we concede a goal and that is a foul on Jonny Evans.’

Despite the defeat, the United boss said he was pleased with his team’s performance, adding: ‘I think this is a real step forward and I am happy with the performance.
‘We are now compact, very good defending in high and lower block, we break like the first goal. Calm on the ball and I see definite room for improvement and see how we go forward and miss some passes forward that we could have hurt them more.
The 88th minute goal from Alejandro Garnacho was believed to be the winner, though this was later ruled out offside.
On the offside, Ten Hag said: ‘We have to accept it, but I don’t think it it’s offside. It is what is you have to accept it.
On new signing Rasmus Hojlund who came on in the 67th minute: ‘I think he played very good but also I think Anthony Martial had a very good performance.
‘We have to improve. But you saw last year we can beat everyone. It was such small margin today.
The pundits later offered their views on the hotly contested match, with Roy Keane adding: ‘He’s frustrated, he feels the decisions have gone against him and they’ve lost the game.
‘I agree with him, there were a lot of positives, he’s frustrated with the decisions, but sometimes they go with you, sometimes they go against you.
Micah Richards said: ‘On that angle we say it did look like Garnacho was onside, but offside os offside. United played so well today but just missed out on those key moments.
The game was a closely-fought battle between the two sides, with a 1-1 scoreline until Declan Rice scored in the sixth minute of injury time, with Gabriel Jesus adding a third.
