Lukaku turns Roma hero with late winner – so Chelsea ‘might finally sell him’
On-loan Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku went from villain to hero as he bounced back from missing a penalty for Roma to bagging a 94th minute winner for Jose Mourinho's side against Leece.
Five minutes into the Serie A contest at the Stadio Olimpico, Leece shotstopper Wladimiro Falcone saved a Lukaku penalty. Then in the second half, despite Roma having the majority of the ball, the visitors struck on 71 minutes through Pontus Almqvist.
Time was running out for Mourinho and co to find an equaliser. But find one they did. In injury-time, on 91 minutes, substitute Sardar Azmoun found the back of the net, setting up a frantic finale between Roma and Leece.

And it was Lukaku who would go from zero to hero. On 94 minutes, the Belgian international span his defender, before firing home into the top corner with a left footed strike to send the crowd wild.
Rapturous scenes followed with Lukaku sprinting over to the crowd to celebrate with the fans. The win moved Mourinho's side up to eighth in Serie A, as they look to keep pace with the rest of the teams competing for European qualification this term.

And was also Lukaku's ninth goal in 12 games for Roma following his summer move from Chelsea – with some Blues fans believing his impressive form of late might actually lead to them being able to sell the Belgian, whom they brought back to Stamford Bridge for £97.5million back in 2021.
"We'll finally be able to sell him," said one Chelsea fan on social media. A second added: "Incredible performance by Lukaku! Truly inspiring moment that showcases his determination and skill."
