Luis Suarez produces outrageous overhead kick at his own son’s birthday party

Luis Suarez has been the proprietor of numerous incredible goals over the years, including for Liverpool and Barcelona, and he once again showed his class – but this time at his son’s birthday party. The Uruguayan legend now plays his football in Brazil with Gremio after returning to South America last year, and he clearly still has it.
Footage has recently emerged on social media of a match at an indoor football pitch, which Suarez had rented out to celebrate his son’s birthday. Benjamin Suarez was born in Barcelona 10 years ago, one year before his father left Liverpool, and celebrated his birthday this week.
Suarez, who has played all over the world, could not seem to resist joining in a football match with his son and his friends, and was not prepared to go easy on them either. As a ball was lofted into the box, the ex-Liverpool striker was able to get up the highest before netting an overhead kick.
Suarez then amusingly wheeled away in celebration before getting mobbed by the youngsters, who could not believe what they had just witnessed.

Despite being in the twilight of his glittering career, Suarez has shown that he is still capable of the spectacular in Brazil. After moving from Uruguayan side Nacional at the beginning of the year, he helped his team-mates win the Campeonato Gaucho while putting up a respectable goalscoring rate.
Rumours have swirled over whether he is set to call it a day on his career, however. Having missed a stretch of games through injury in June, a video appeared on X (formerly known as Twitter) in which Gremio president Alberto Guerra said: “Luis Suarez is reaching his limit. To be able to play he is given almost daily injections and special treatments, he feels constant pain. The thing is serious.”

When his close friends Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba all moved to Inter Miami recently, he was linked with a move Stateside and Suarez did hint at that possibility, but he remains in Brazil – scoring wonder goals at birthday parties.
“With Messi, we dream of retiring together”, Suarez told the Uruguayan TV show Punto Penal. “It was something that we always planned when we were at Barcelona. And from one year to the next I went to Atletico (Madrid) and he went to Paris Saint-Germain.
“We dreamed of it and we talked about it that after Barcelona we would go to the United States and nothing happened at the time. Now he made the decision to go there and from what you can see, he looks happy and we hope that at some point that possibility will occur.”
The 23/24 home shirt for Liverpool pays homage to the past of the club, as well as collaborator Nike, with a strong 1970s influence. The iconic red, capped with bold white cuffs and collar really does invoke that classic Liverpool FC style while adding a cool retro touch
