Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has picked his ideal replacement for in-demand Mohamed Salah.
The 31-year-old has made a great start to the new campaign after being the subject of late summer interest from Saudi Arabia.
Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad reportedly tabled a staggering world record £215million offer for the Egyptian but Liverpool remained adament their star man was not for sale.
That has not silenced speculation that the winger could soon be on his way out of the club with Saudi interest persisting and his contract running out in 2025.
Warnock admitted that Jurgen Klopp’s side will find it hard to replace their talisman but insisted every player is ‘replaceable’ while putting forward his preferred candidate.

Winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia enjoyed a breakout year with Napoli last term and won Serie A
‘Everyone’s replaceable. I’ve said it about [Luis] Suarez, I’ve said it about [Philippe] Coutinho, and he [Salah] will be replaceable in time.’ The 41-year-old said on talkSPORT. ‘I think the big problem is with Salah if you get a £175million offer from Saudi Arabia that’s difficult to say no to.
‘I wouldn’t sell him in January but maybe next season, but only if you’ve got someone else lined up.
‘You’d have to have someone exciting lined up, the one player that springs to mind is [Khvicha] Kvaratskhelia. He’s the one player you look at where you think he’s young and has potential and can play, but he’s a left-sided player, could he play on the right?’
The 22-year-old Georgian played a starring role in Napoli’s Serie A title win last season and has many top clubs in Europe interested.
Newcastle tested the water with a club record £82m bid in June after the winger’s agent said any deal would need to be in the region of £86m.
Following Napoli’s domestic success and run to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Kvaratskhelia will likely fetch even more next summer.
