Manchester City thrashed Club Brugge 5-1 on the road in the Champions League on Tuesday, and it would've been easy picking for Harry Kane according to a former City star.
Pep Guardiola is still without a centre-forward and is trialling many different midfielder's in the no.9 role after failing to sign Kane this summer.
City may have scored five against Brugge, but two of their scorers were defenders and one was an academy graduate off the bench, as Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo found the net, and there was a first senior goal for Cole Palmer.
The central role appears to be the only area that City are lacking, and Kane could've had a field day.
Former Man City star Danny Mills told talkSPORT: "I don't know what he’s doing, but if Harry Kane's watching this game, he's thinking, I'd have had a hat-trick by now. There’s been four or five balls put across the six yard box where there’s been nobody in there.
"People will say it’s lazy commentary or it’s too easy to say that Manchester City don’t have a centre forward. "You're playing with two outstanding wide players that want to come in onto their wrong foot play either one-twos into the centre forward, or put the ball into the box, but there’s no one in there for them.

"Harry Kane must be watching this thinking, I'd have scored probably 12 goals for City by now this season, if I’d be in their team."
City are still scoring for fun despite lacking a centre-forward, so it poses the question just how unstoppable would they be if they had a classic no.9 that was making the most of the loose balls in the box?
Kane's future is at Tottenham for now, but it remains to be seen whether City will be back in for the Spurs striker, or whether they will focus their attention elsewhere and look at other options.
