Jude Bellingham transfer latest as Dortmund ‘close’ on Birmingham wonderkid
The future of Birmingham City wonderkid Jude Bellingham remains in question, amid claims Borussia Dortmund are set to land his signature this summer.
According to a number of reports in Germany, the 16 year-old has agreed terms with the Bundesliga side.
Bellingham, who has made 34 appearances for Blues this season, has been monitored by a number of Europe's biggest clubs after a stunning breakthrough campaign.
Liverpool , Chelsea , Arsenal , Manchester United and Bayern Munich can all be counted among the teenager's admirers.
But it is claimed that Dortmund are now in pole position to snare Bellingham, who doesn't turn 17 until June 29.
Sport Bild reports that BVB have agreed terms with the youngster over a move, and have claimed that a transfer fee in excess of £30million has been discussed.
Bellingham has been to Dortmund to view club facilities recently, with BVB having monitored his progress since he first came to their attention in a youth tournament in 2018.
With regards the fee – amid suggestions he could break Dortmund's transfer record – the versatile midfielder remains on a scholarship deal at St Andrew's. As such a tribunal could set the fee if a deal cannot be worked out between the two clubs.
Birmingham will believed that they are in a strong position to negotiate, given interest from elsewhere – most notably United, who saw a £12million approach turned down in January.
Mirror Sport understands no switch has yet been agreed, however Birmingham are so far not commenting.
Bellingham will not play for Blues in their FA Cup fifth round tie with Leicester on Thursday night.
After 27 starts and seven substitute appearances for the Championship side, head coach Pep Clotet has elected to rest the midfielder.
