Jadon Sancho has hit back at Erik ten Hag after being "scapegoated" by the Manchester United manager.
The Red Devils winger responded to harsh words from his manager after the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday. Sancho was bizarrely not selected for the United squad ahead of their trip to the Emirates.
Ten Hag's side lost due to two stoppage time Arsenal goals, having had their own late winner ruled out for offside.
The Dutchman was asked about Sancho's absence after the final whistle, where he offered a cryptic response that criticised the Englishman's level in training.

Ten Hag said: “Jadon Sancho out? Based on his performance in training we didn't select him.
“You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United. That’s why in this game he wasn't selected."
In stunning scenes, Sancho has since responded to the criticism by taking to his social media to deliver an impassioned statement.
He wrote: "Please don't believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.
"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair! All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.
"I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!"
Sancho's time at United has been somewhat of a nightmare since his £73million move from Borussia Dortmund two years ago. The 23-year-old has failed to earn regular minutes under each of his three managers.
Ten Hag appeared keen to remedy the talented youngster's situation by sending him on a special training retreat last winter, after which he briefly appeared to have found his confidence.
But Sancho has still been unable to keep up his form despite enjoying a brief purple patch in pre-season. He appeared as a substitute in United's three previous Premier League fixtures to start the 2023/24 campaign.
