Jadon Sancho barred from Man Utd canteen by Ten Hag and forced to eat with kids
Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United first-team exile reportedly extends beyond training – with the England international also banned from eating with the squad.
Sancho has been banished from the first-team squad by Erik ten Hag following a public row with his manager, which saw him accuse the Dutchman of lying over the reason for his omission from the squad that lost 3-1 against Arsenal. Ten Hag said in his post-match interview that Sancho had been left out from the game at the Emirates Stadium on September 3 due to poor training performances, something Sancho hit back at on social media.
The £73million signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 criticised his manager in a Twitter post which has now been deleted. Sancho wrote: "Please don't believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into. I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!”

But despite looking as though he had taken initial steps to reconcile with his manager by deleting the post, Sancho has since refused to apologise to Ten Hag, who in turn banished him from the first-team. And it’s been reported by The Mirror, that Sancho’s ban extends to all first-team facilities at Carrington, including the state-of-the-art dining facilities.
Sancho is said to be ‘unhappy' that he’s been forbidden from accessing first-team areas, which now sees him training away from his team-mates and eating with the academy players. A United source reportedly admitted the situation with Sancho and Ten Hag has reached an “impasse”.

This ultimately means there is no way back for the 23-year-old at Old Trafford unless he apologises to his boss, with Ten Hag not willing to back down despite a lack of options at right-wing. A source at United is said to have claimed: “There is an easy way to resolve this situation, which is for Jadon to say sorry to the manager. Something has to give – and it won't be the manager.”
Tensions are believed to have built behind the scenes, with Sancho understood to have been late for training on several occasions, and the winger’s provocative post on social media has proven to be the last straw for Ten Hag.
After a bright beginning to last season, Sancho was given four months off by Ten Hag last November as he dealt with physical and mental issues, later returning on February 1. He won a regular place at the end of the season, starting nine of United’s final 11 games.
