Jadon Sancho and Erik ten Hag ‘barely speaking’ as exit looms for Man Utd flop

Erik ten Hag is reportedly no longer on speaking terms with Jadon Sancho, whose Manchester United nightmare could end in January.

Sancho has been banished from the first-team squad by Ten Hag following a public row with his manager, which saw him accuse the Dutchman of lying over the reason for his omission from the squad that lost 3-1 at Arsenal. Ten Hag said in his post-match interview that Sancho had been left out due to poor training performances, something Sancho hit back at on social media.

While the offending post was eventually deleted, Sancho has refused to apologise to Ten Hag, who has barred the former Borussia Dortmund from all first-team facilities at the club’s Carrington training ground, including its plush dining area. Sancho is continuing the train with the club’s academy players.

With their relationship seemingly past the point of no return, it is now claimed that the pair are not even speaking to each other. An insider close to Sancho told i: “There is no relationship between Jadon and Ten Hag.

“They have barely spoken since the incident and Jadon is still training with the academy players. He has no involvement with the first team. Right now, getting out of there would suit everyone.”

Ten Hag has robustly refused to discuss Sancho in public, stressing to the media that he is only will to talk about players who are ‘available for selection’.

It claimed Ten Hag wants Sancho to apologise in front of the whole squad, but Sancho doesn’t believe he should have to. Amid the impasse, a January departure looks inevitable.

Sancho would reportedly prefer a loan move so he can assess his options before next summer. A return to Dortmund is a possibility while Juventus are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old.
