FPL injury news with Man Utd changes, Chelsea trio ruled out, Arsenal Jesus hope
Football Digest: Analysing Man Utd's failed recruitment
The third gameweek of the 2023/24 Premier League season has arrived, and many managers will be missing some key players. Express Sport is here to provide you with some must-know late information from some of the country’s biggest clubs before you lock in your FPL teams.
Man Utd changes expected
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is expected to make at least two changes, with Mason Mount and Luke Shaw ruled out for a number of weeks.
Christian Eriksen will likely replace the United No 7, but Scott McTominay is also in contention. Diogo Dalot is the obvious choice to fill in for Shaw.
Ten Hag may also be tempted to make an attacking change after his side’s toothless showings against Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur.
Jadon Sancho or Anthony Martial could be good options, with Alejandro Garnacho the forward most in danger of being dropped.

Chelsea trio ruled out
Chelsea’s unavailable list is up to nine players.
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Romeo Lavia isn’t fit to start, while Carney Chukwuemeka and Mykhaylo Mudryk have joined those sidelined.
He said: “I think maybe a few days [for Mudryk]. He is not going to be available for tomorrow. He is very disappointed because of the situation. He played 45 minutes against West Ham.
“He is a player we hope to help play in the way we believe he can perform. He is disappointed, but at the same time, it is not a big issue. Maybe one week or a few days.
“I think it is not an issue that will take months [for Chukwuemeka], maybe weeks. I hope he can be with the team again as soon as possible.”
Reece James, Armando Broja, Wesley Fofana, Marcus Bettinelli, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile are also out.
Arsenal’s Jesus hope
There is hope at Arsenal that Gabriel Jesus will return to action before the international break after resuming first-team training on Thursday.
This weekend may come too early for the Brazilian, but he could be in contention for the clash with United next Sunday.
Jurrien Timber will be out for months after suffering an ACL injury in his debut. Mohamed Elneny hasn’t featured yet this term but has returned to training ahead of the weekend.
Folarin Balogun likely won’t feature as he reportedly nears a move to AS Monaco.

Updates on Liverpool quartet
Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold seemingly left the pitch with knocks in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth.
But both have been pictured in first-team training this week and are expected to be ready to start again at Newcastle United.
The Reds’ midfield duo Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara still aren’t available to Jurgen Klopp.
