Fernandes wins first Man Utd award after flying start to Old Trafford career
Bruno Fernandes has got his Man Utd career off to a flier after picking up the club's February Player of the Month award.
The Portuguese midfielder only joined the club days before the January transfer window shut, and made his debut in the draw with Wolves on February 1.
Since then Fernandes has played a hand in five goals for the Red Devils, with four of those coming throughout February.
The 25-year-old is yet to lose in a United shirt, having helped them to three wins and two draws last month.
Fernandes provided two goals from the penalty spot, as well as two assists during that spell.
His performances have drawn praise from all quarters, as United now look set for a fresh assault on the top four.
Former Man Utd legend Ryan Giggs told Sky Sports: "He's a fantastic player. He's lifted the place, he has lifted everyone around him and it's still early days. I still think he can get even better.
“He's hit the ground running which is what you want – especially [after] signing in the January transfer window [because] it doesn't always happen.
“But he's fantastic and I'm pleased to see him doing so well."
Fernandes has followed up his exploits in February with his first goal from open play in Sunday's draw with Everton .
Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford couldn't get down quick enough to stop Fernandes' potshot from distance, which flashed past him and into the bottom corner.
Another United great, Paul Scholes, has already backed Fernandes to become a huge hit at Old Trafford.
