Expected Man Utd lineup for Man City clash as Maguire and Wan-Bissaka start

Manchester United host arch-rivals Manchester City in the Premier League this afternoon – and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to gamble on the fitness of key defenders Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Red Devils are aiming to record a third win over Pep Guardiola’s men this season, having emerged victorious at the Etihad in both the league and the Carabao Cup.

Both sides head into today’s derby encounter in solid form, nonetheless; United have avoided defeat in almost two months, while City have put together a run of five straight victories – including in the Carabao Cup final.

Solskjaer was without Maguire and Wan-Bissaka in Thursday’s 3-0 FA Cup win away at Derby due to injury, yet both men are likely to pass late fitness tests and start in what is such a crucial outing.

Paul Pogba and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are still out, as is long-term absentee Marcus Rashford, while Daniel James is a doubt to feature.

David de Gea is certain to start in between the sticks, with Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Maguire and Luke Shaw making up the back four.

Solskjaer is expected to deploy a 4-3-1-2 setup at Old Trafford, which will see Nemanja Matic sit in between Scott McTominay and Fred in the middle of the park.

In the attacking midfield slot, Bruno Fernandes is bound to get the nod after scoring three goals in his first seven appearances since completing a £67m move from Sporting Lisbon in January.

United are looking to do the double over their neighbours in the league after winning 2-1 at the Etihad back in December.
