Diogo Dalot poked fun at his old Manchester United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo while on international duty with Portugal.
The defender took a break from preparations for games against Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to share a cheeky Instagram story of the Al-Nassr striker transfixed by his mobile.
The 24-year-old accompanied the post with the caption: ‘This new generation always on the phone’ – In an ironic taunt of his 38-year-old colleague.
Dalot has prevoiously spoken of his admiration of the Portuguese legend and revealed his desire to follow in Ronaldo’s footsteps motivated his move to Old Trafford in 2018.

The pair played together at club level for the first time at Man United between 2021 and 2022
Ronaldo made his record 200th appearance at international level and scored his 123rd goal
Unfortunately his stay in Manchester ended just over a year later following his blockbuster tell-all interview with Piers Morgan and subsequent release which paved for the way for a move to Saudi Arabia.
Shortly before his departure, Dalot had defended Ronaldo amid growing tensions between himself and new boss Erik ten Hag after he had refused to come on during United’s 2-0 win over Spurs last year.
‘We are very happy to have Cristiano,’ Dalot told Sky Sports after the side’s Europa League win against Sheriff Tiraspol. ‘Yesterday he scored a goal, this is what he has been doing for 20 years now and every time he is on the pitch and every time he is helping us, we are a better team.’
Portugal go into the latest round of international fixtures knowing a win would guarantee qualification for next summer’s EUROs and maintain their 100 percent record in the group.
Roberto Martinez’s side are yet to concede and have called up promising 19-year-old midfielder Joao Neves for the first time.
