Cristiano Ronaldo's performance for Al-Nassr in their 1-0 loss to Al-Ittihad was summed up by an awful free-kick he skied over the bar.
The 38-year-old captained his side to a drab defeat away at their rivals, who took control of the Saudi Pro League title race by going a point clear at the top of the table.
A late goal from Romarinho secured all three points for Nuno Espirito Santo's men, before which Ronaldo had a chance to score the opener with a second-half set-piece – which he failed miserably with.

Despite often being heralded for his free-kick ability, he sent the attempt from just outside the right side of the box way over the bar.
And he then had the audacity to claim a corner from Spanish referee Mateu Lahoz, who was making his first appearance in the Middle East since being booted out of the Qatar World Cup after showing 15 yellow cards in Argentina's quarter-final with the Netherlands.

Replays showed the ball didn't hit the wall, with Ronaldo presumably trying to save face for his wayward effort which likely ended up in row Z.
His mood didn't improve come the final whistle. He was seen throwing his captain's armband to the ground and kicking a pile of water bottles as he exited the King Abdullah Sports City pitch.
Ronaldo had been ruthlessly taunted with Lionel Messi chants throughout the game. He reacted to loud pre-match boss by smiling and nodding to the cameras.
Some of the home fans even brought Messi's Argentina shirt to hold up in the stands to cap off a bad day at the office all round for him.
