Chelsea star sold by Pochettino now has more goals than every one of his players
Pochettino gives Chelsea team news for Fulham trip
Christian Pulisic has now scored more goals this season than any of his former Chelsea team-mates. The American’s 60th-minute brace against Lazio on Saturday marked his third goal for AC Milan since arriving in the summer after he was deemed surplus to requirements by Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson are Chelsea’s joint top scorers during the 2023/2024 campaign so far with both men registering two goals in all competitions. The west Londoners have been plagued by a barren streak in front of goal this season and haven’t scored in England’s top flight for over a month.
Pulisic, on the other hand, is enjoying a fruitful start to life in Italy. The 25-year-old was sold to AC for £19million following four up and down seasons at Stamford Bridge.
During his time at Chelsea, he registered 26 goals and 21 assists across 145 games – and was part of the Blues’ Champions League-winning side in 2021.
Reflecting on his strong start at AC Milan, Pulisic said: “We pushed hard, in the second half we were more aggressive and managed to win. I’m having fun and things are improving from game to game. I don’t have a target in terms of goals, but I will try to score many important ones like today’s.
“We have a good chance of winning the Scudetto, but we have to think game by game starting from the match against Genoa.” AC Milan find themselves placed second in Serie A after seven games, level on points with league leaders Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have gotten off to one of their worst starts in the club’s history and have slipped down to 15th place in the Premier League.
A win against Fulham on Sunday at Craven Cottage could see them rise to as high as 11th in the table though which would be a crucial boost ahead of a tough run of games which includes encounters with Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Brighton and Manchester United.
