Chelsea could have chances to sign wonderkid ‘wrecked’ by Nottingham Forest
Chelsea could have their chances of signing wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo wrecked by Nottingham Forest, according to reports.
The Blues are in the race to sign the talented young Brazilian with Barcelona but face the agony of missing out on him due to Andrey Santos’ situation at Forest. Brazilian starlet Santos, who signed for Chelsea earlier this year in a £13million deal, was loaned out to fellow Premier League club Forest back in the summer to spend the season developing away from Stamford Bridge.
However, his loan spell has not gone to plan with the Chelsea star yet to taste a single minute of first-team action in the Premier League. And that could give Barcelona the advantage to seal a deal for Moscardo from under the noses of Chelsea, according to Spanish publication Sport.
The 18-year-old midfielder is represented by Giuliano Bertolucci, the same agent as Santos. And the report claims that he and the Moscardo may think twice about accepting Chelsea’s offer in light of how Andrey’s time at Chelsea so far has panned out. 19-year-old Santos has played 90 minutes for Forest but that came in the 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat against Burnley back in August.
Chelsea are said to be ‘monitoring his situation closely’ already amid concerns that he could find himself ostracised at Forest. There is believed to be a break clause in the deal which could see Chelsea recall the youngster in January.
Santos, however, will hope he will finally get some Premier League game time when Forest travel to Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace this weekend with Steve Cooper battling an injury crisis.
The Forest manager has left the Brazilian on the substitutes’ bench on two occasions this season but could be forced to turn to him with midfielders Ryan Yates, Nicolas Dominguez and Danilo all ruled out of the clash with injuries.

Chelsea, meanwhile, could also be left at a disadvantage in their bid to sign Moscardo with the same Sport report claiming that his agent has a good relationship with Barcelona’s sporting director Deco.
Moscardo, a defensive-minded midfielder, caught the eye of a number of big clubs around Europe last season after breaking into the Corinthians first team, playing 28 times despite being just 18. His fine form also saw him make his debut for the Brazilian under-23 team and could yet see him head to England or Spain when the transfer window opens back up.
