Arsenal host Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm) and will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing to Everton on Monday night. The Gunners have lost three of their last four games and are in danger of slipping down the table once again in their topsy-turvy season.

Arsenal went 1-0 ahead against the Toffees at Goodison Park and looked to be heading for their eighth top-flight win of the campaign.

But Everton turned the game on its head as Richarlison and Demarai Gray netted late on.

Boss Mikel Arteta will be under pressure for his team to win against Southampton and Express Sport takes a look at how Arsenal could line up at the Emirates Stadium.

Goalkeeper – Ramsdale

Aaron Ramsdale has been in impressive form since signing from Sheffield United in the summer.

He has kept seven clean sheets in 13 encounters for the north Londoners and will take his place between the sticks once again against the Saints.

Defence – Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney

Takehiro Tomiyasu has started every game since moving to Arsenal during the summer transfer window and has been another standout player for the side.

He will line up on the right of his team’s back four, with Kieran Tierney hoping to keep his place on the opposite side of the pitch.

Tierney started his first game since mid-October on Monday night and provided the assist for Martin Odegaard’s opener.

Ben White and Gabriel will start at the heart of the Gunners’ defence after building a formidable partnership this season.

Midfield – Xhaka, Partey, Odegaard

Granit Xhaka returned for Arsenal at Goodison Park after spending 10 weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The midfield enforcer lasted the full 90 minutes and should keep his place alongside Thomas Partey against Southampton.

Odegaard will play in a more advanced midfield role as he looks to lay on the chances for his attacking team-mates.

Forwards – Saka, Smith Rowe, Lacazette

Bukayo Saka returned to the fold on Monday night after dropping to the bench for his side’s 3-2 loss against Manchester United.

The England international could line-up on the right of his side’s attack, while Emile Smith Rowe could return on the left.

Smith Rowe was ruled out of the Everton clash with a groin injury but could return to bolster his side’s attacking potency – although Arteta must decide whether or not he is fit enough for 90 minutes.

Alexandre Lacazette could lead the Arsenal frontline for the second time in six days, with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang well out of form.

Arsenal have dropped to seventh in the Premier League table following their poor run and Lacazette will hope he can provide the goals to help his side break into the top four over the festive period.
