Alex Scott replies to Dan Walker’s Football Focus post with ‘interesting’ meme
Alex Scott and Dan Walker are in something of a spat over the future of Football Focus.
The iconic footy show could be scrapped by the BBC, with the broadcasters holding crisis talks about the future of the program. And hearing about the struggles, Walker, who previously presented the show, shared his thoughts on social media.
Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, the now-Channel 5 News host shared: "It’s hard to see Football Focus struggling. I loved it growing up and it was an honour to present it and I still miss it. We poured everything into that show each week and worked hard to keep it relevant. I hope it stays part of the TV landscape.

And current Football Focus host Scott hit back with a gif from kids TV show iCarly, where the main character sips her drinks and says "interesting". Walker later responded: "I’m not saying you haven’t Alex.
"It’s a saturated market and it’s hard work every week. I hope you have a good show today."

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Football Focus has seen a rapid decline in viewing figures over the past couple of years. And the average weekly viewing figures for August has fallen from 849,000 in 2019 to just 564,000 last month.
The most rapid decline occurred when Walker left his role in 2021, and he was replaced by Scott. However, BBC bosses are not blaming Scott for the decline – and she remains highly regarded at the BBC.
Football Focus isn't in any immediate danger of being cancelled, but a major rebuild is needed ahead of the shows 50th anniversary next season.
