AC Milan and Venezia ultras became embroiled in a bizarre battle at sea on Sunday as the two sets of supporters shot fireworks at each other’s boats ahead of their side’s Serie A clash.
With the game being played at Venice’s Stadio Pierluigi Penzo, a group of each team’s most passionate fans decided to get the ferries to the stadium.
This resulted in what can be described as a full on naval battle between the two fans, as onlookers captured footage of fireworks being traded as the two boats made their way to the ground.

The ferry which shipped all the Venezia fans was shrouded in black smoke, while the boat with all the Milan fans became engulfed with red smoke – the colours of their teams.
Luckily, both sets of fans failed to direct their fireworks on the desired target – leaving the clip to go viral online.
But it would be the Milan fans who would have the last laugh as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Co put Venezia to the sword, with Milan running out 3-0 winners on the day.

Left back Theo Hernandez was also able to strike twice in the second half to help his side clinch their third consecutive league victory.
Ibrahimovic tapped in after two minutes, making the Venetians the 80th team the Swede has scored against in Europe’s top five leagues, a record only Cristiano Ronaldo has matched since 2000.
Hernandez blasted home early in the second half, before Venezia defender Michael Svoboda was sent off for blocking a goal-bound shot with his arm, giving Milan’s stand-in captain the chance to dispatch the resulting penalty.
Milan, who have not won the Serie A title since 2010-11, provisionally moved into first place on 48 points, two ahead of Inter Milan.
However, the reigning champions have two games in hand, including a clash with Lazio later on Sunday.

‘This must be the year we prove ourselves. We need to show that we are competitive again,’ Milan coach Stefano Pioli told Sky Italia.
‘We will see if we can make the final step up, to be winners. This was not an easy game. We did well to make it look simple. It was a team victory.’
Venezia’s winless run in the league now stands at seven games, and they sit in 16th place on 17 points, four clear of the relegation zone.
