Aaron Ramsdale fears second heartbreak if he doesn’t claim Arsenal No1 spot back
Aaron Ramsdale fears the axe from England and Euros heartbreak unless he wins back his place at Arsenal.
Ramsdale has found himself frozen out at the Emirates, after seeing Mikel Arteta make David Raya his No.1 goalkeeper. And he admits he has to get back into his club team – otherwise he could be left out of Gareth Southgate's squad for next summer's tournament in Germany.
Ramsdale, who will be on the bench again when Arsenal travel to Chelsea on Saturday (October 21), said: "I think the manager is going to look at everyone who's available. For me, I need to get back into my club team to keep getting picked and keep giving the manager a headache.

"Because if I'm not, then that's an easier decision for him." Ramsdale admits he's worried about his international future and added: "Yeah, of course. It is the first time I have found myself in this situation.
"The manager here is brilliant. He trusts the players he's worked with before, as we've seen in different types of ways. So if that's the case for myself, and I do get shown that trust to play another game if I haven't played for my club, then I will have to repay him.

"But of course, I want to get back into my club team and be able to give the manager a headache, rather than just have Jordan [Pickford] as the number one, and me fall by the wayside."
Ramsdale has shut down his social media and is ignoring the criticism, as he continues to find himself on the sidelines. And he admits his dad didn't help the situation when he criticised pundit Jamie Carragher for allegedly mocking Ramsdale during the north London derby before the international break.
Ramsdale added: "This isn't the first time my name has been in the press, and it has been more negative stuff, so I have drowned it out before. It doesn't help that my dad does it – but it was on a golf trip in Spain with 19 other lads from the local pub!
"To be honest, I wasn't too mad at him, he didn't say anything out of turn, it's just wasn't helpful for the situation. He knew that. He obviously just had a few too many on the golf course! I know there's a lot of noise, but it doesn't affect me."
