Brady cringes as star plays Patriot games

Well this is awkward.

NFL legend Tom Brady looked extremely uncomfortable for a moment on the weekend while sitting next to New England Patriots teammate Julian Edelman and comedian Jimmy Fallon at the Syracuse vs University of North Carolina (UNC) college basketball game in upstate New York.

“He’s coming back, he’s coming back,” a clean-shaven and smiling Edelman could be seen saying of Brady during the game, as cameras panned towards the two Super Bowl winners.

Fallon clapped at Edelman’s declaration, but Brady appeared to cringe, at one point shaking his head.

Brady will become a free agent for the first time in his lengthy NFL career if he and the Patriots cannot agree on a new contract by March 18. His future is the hottest topic in football and everyone is waiting to see whether the legendary quarterback returns to New England or heads elsewhere next season, breaking up his legendary partnership with Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

Edelman hasn’t been shy about wanting Brady to return to New England for a 21st season with the franchise, even begging the 42-year-old to come back on social media this off-season.

But many signs point to Brady signing elsewhere after he becomes a free agent, as expected, including the fact Brady and the Patriots have yet to meet regarding a new contract.

The Las Vegas Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers are expected to pursue Brady, who has made more than $AUD360 million with New England.

Though Brady’s future has been the talk of football, Edelman mostly has been out of the limelight since his arrest in January after the 33-year-old wide receiver allegedly jumped on the hood of a Mercedes in Beverly Hills.
