Muhammad Ali’s grandson sends Jake Paul a message after extending winning record

Biaggio Ali Walsh has made it clear he has no interest in fighting Jake Paul.

The grandson of boxing legend Muhammad Ali extended his unbeaten MMA winning streak to five matches in a row. Walsh emphatically overcame Ed Davis on the undercard of the PFL Playoffs at The Theatre in Madison Square Garden, New York.

While the 24-year-old is still an amateur, he is beginning to establish himself as a serious prospect having won his last five bouts. Nevertheless, he finds himself receiving a lot of unwanted attention from the ex-YouTuber, who has repeatedly called out Walsh and his brother Nico, a boxing prospect who is also beginning to stamp his mark.

After hearing Paul, who recently overcame Nate Diaz in the squared circle, had called him out again, a look of frustration came over Walsh’s face.

“Again, though? Does it keep happening,” he said after his victory. “I don’t really care. It doesn’t make sense to me. I fight at 155, he fights at 185. He can call me out 30 times, it's really not going to do anything.

"I’m an MMA fighter and I’m still an amateur, isn’t he a pro? He’s a pro fighter, I’m an amateur. I’m still working my way up and I’m not really in a name vs name money fight right now, I’m just focusing on what I’m trying to do.”

There’s a large chance Walsh’s path may end up crossing with Paul’s again. After his victory over Diaz, Paul challenged the former UFC star to an MMA clash in the PFL, the same promotion Walsh is competing in.

In April, Paul made it clear he wants to fight Walsh in MMA and also take on Nico, a promising boxing prospect, in the squared circle. When asked about the idea of fighting either or both of Ali's grandchildren during a watch along of PFL 2 in April, Paul said he would “erase them all.” Nevertheless, if his current feelings are anything to go by, it will be a long time before Walsh would ever entertain such an idea.

When asked what his current focus is, Walsh replied: “Just getting better and better. If I’m honest I’m not really that happy with my performance. I felt calmer but there are certain things I’ve got to do to just get better and better.

“That’s what fighting’s all about. The fighting journey is a learning journey as well and it's all about just getting better and better.”
