Jake Paul urged to fight Jorge Masvidal instead of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr
Jake Paul has been urged to snub a boxing bout with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr to instead secure a showdown with UFC star Jorge Masvidal.
The YouTube star has just defeated Tyron Woodley for a second time in Florida with a brutal stoppage to end their rivalry.
Paul then called out a number of stars which included MMA fighter Masvidal in addition to former boxing world-champion Chavez Jr.
He has now been urged by boxing legend Teddy Atlas to take on Masvidal next due to his superior "striking" ability in comparison to his previous opponent Woodley.
"I'd like to see him – It’s probably not going to happen – But if he fought Masvidal, Masvidal is a pretty good striker," Atlas told The Schmo. "That’d be interesting. That would get my attention. Obviously, Diaz.
"The guy that he beat, Woodley, was a real fighter. But he was just about retired. He was 41, 42 years old, and never a tremendous striker; better on the mat; not a real busy guy. So, he picked the spot pretty good.
“But it’d be a little more interesting if he fought a Masvidal because Masvidal, he’s a better striker, and he’s more versatile. He could use his legs. He could pick spots. He could look to set up the right hand.
“Obviously, he called out Masvidal, and he called out Diaz. He is bigger. He’s larger. He has those advantages. He’s smart. A lot of people hate him, but one thing I give him credit for: He didn’t disrespect the sport of boxing. He went, and he learned it.”
Paul has frequently called out Masvidal during his short career after their previous friendship turned sour despite having previously been pictured training together.
His latest pining for Masvidal came after his victory over Woodley where he begged UFC president Dana White to allow 'Gamebred' to enter negotiations for a crossover bout.
However the Youtube star has also made it clear he wants to face Chavez Jr who has recently lost to retired UFC legend Anderson Silva.

Chavez Jr appears to have accepted the offer made by Paul which will likely not happen until the spring or summer stages of next year.
Paul could also opt to reschedule a bout with British star Tommy Fury who he was set to face earlier this month until his rival withdrew due to injury.
Fury's promoter Frank Warren is expecting that the event will be revived for next year despite Paul refusing to commit to a rescheduled date.
"Look, we want to get the fight on. Tommy wants it on, we've been talking and [Paul's] management team has been talking to us," he told iFL TV.
"Hopefully we can get resurrection and we can get it on, Tommy wants it and for the both of them it's a fight they both said they've wanted.
"The public bought into it so I want to see it happen and I want to see it happen for Tommy."
