The Narendra Modi Stadium is the jewel in the crown of the 2023 Cricket World Cup – with a capacity 40,000 seats bigger than Wembley
Hosting both the opening game and the final, the 132,000 capacity international cricket stadium in Ahmedabad can fit more cars in their parking lot than Bournemouth and Luton can in their entire grounds.
The tournament gets underway on Thursday morning as reigning champions England take on New Zealand, with Ben Stokes and his team-mates training at the huge venue that opened in 2020 in the same spot as the iconic Saradar Patel stadium.

The England star could be seen gasping at the sheer size of the stadium during the session, with over 100,000 seats more than their iconic home of Lord's.
It won't come as much of surprise that the Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest cricket venue in the world and India's premier stadium.
Since the rebuild, which began place in 2015, the record attendance came with 101,000 people at the 2022 IPL Final. It also hosted Donald Trump during his time as president of the United States.

That could well be beaten should India reach the final of the tournament on November 19, with 10 teams contesting 48 matches in total.
All 10 nations will play once against each other in a group stage before the top four advance to the semi-finals.
The 50-over format, which includes reserve days for all the knockout games, also features appearances from South Africa, Australia and New Zealand with the West Indies missing out.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, England's victorious captain in 2019, Eoin Morgan, said on Sky Sports: "It would without a doubt be a bigger achievement for England to win this World Cup than when we won in 2019.
"The nature of the schedule has not allowed them to have the type of preparation they would like and being away from home, especially in India where India are so strong, is tough. Winning here would carry a lot more weight than winning at home.
"I am still extremely hopeful that England can defend the title, though."
